  1. The oldest person in the bible was Methuselah, He died when he was 969 years old. Genesis 5:27
  2. There were two men in the bible who never died but were caught up to heaven. Enoch, who walked with God and was no more. Genesis 5:22-24. And Elijah, who was caught up by a whirlwind into heaven. 2 Kings 2:11
  3. The bible was the first book ever printed. It was printed in 1454 by Johannes Gutenberg who invented the type mole for the printing press.
  4. The inspired authors of the bible were from different walk of life. Fishermen, priests, philosophers, physicians, farmers, shepherds, kings.
  5. The NKJ bible contains 783,137 words.
  6. Isaiah the Prophet preached barefoot and naked for 3 years. Isaiah 20:3.
  7. The bible is still the largest seller of all books published.
  8. Almonds and pistachios are nuts mentioned in the bible. Genesis 43:11, Jeremiah 1:11.
  9. The only domestic animal not mentioned in the Bible is the cat.
  10. In the Old Testament, children were stoned to death for disobeying their parents. Deuteronomy 21:18-21.
  11. King Solomon had 700 wives, princesses and 300 concubines. 1 Kings 11:1-3
  12. Newborn babies were rubbed with salt in the bible. Ezekiel 16:4.
  13. Suicide isn’t new. There are 7 suicide recorded in the bible.
    1. Abimelech – Judges 9:54.
    2. Samson – Judges 16:29-31.
    3. Saul and His Armor Bearer – 1 Samuel 31:3-6.

    5. Ahithophel – 2 Samuel 17:23.

  16. Your sins will never keep you from being used by God. Below is a list of men who sinned yet God still used mightily.
    1. King David- Had an affair with Bathsheba and was responsible for the death of her husband. Yet God loved David, calling him a man after My own heart. 2 Samuel 11.
    2. Peter Once called Simon – One of Jesus Disciples, denied Jesus three times. Yet God used him mightily as the first Apostle to preach the gospel of Jesus after Christ resurrection. John 18:15-21.
    3. Paul persecuted and murdered Christians before he became a follower of Christ. Yet God used him mightily to preach the gospel of Jesus in many places. Paul wrote some of the books in the New Testament. Acts 8:3.
